TENET's Mirror Service provides local mirrors of popular open-source and free content, including SourceForge, various Linux distributions, and other software. While the service is made freely available to the South African Internet community, our focus is on the software used by the research and education community.
Several of our mirrors are listed as official sources of the software they serve, including our SourceForge, Ubuntu, FreeBSD, and MacPorts mirrors.
Academics and researchers at our beneficiary institutions can request that we consider additional mirrors, provided they are well used within the community and have policies that allow for mirroring.
